Dr Shetal Patel

Shetal is an experienced, warm and compassionate clinical psychologist.  She takes a non-judgmental, strength-based approach, facilitating a space where clients feel safe to explore their difficulties and achieve their personal goals. 


Alongside her private work, Shetal works in the NHS as the Clinical Lead for a specialist Perinatal Loss and Trauma service. She also offers doctorate level teaching on Clinical Psychology courses, and is a trained Clinical Supervisor. 
 

Shetal has expertise to work with adults who are experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties, including Anxiety, Trauma, Depression and Low self-esteem, and has a special interest in perinatal mental health.

 

Shetal has specialist training in various evidence-based psychological interventions, namely Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy (PGDT);  as well as attachment-based therapies including Circle of Security (COS) and Video Interaction Guidance (VIG). This means she is competently able to offer flexible, integrative and person-centered care to people with a variety of difficulties.

Shetal is registered to provide psychological services in the UK (HCPC; PYL26837) and Australia (AHPRA; PSY0002473949).
